The Dovecote, Thithecote Manor

We are reaching the final stages in restoring the Dovecote in Hurley. Originally built by the Benedictine monks in the early 1300’s when the meat, eggs and fertilizer were used by the local monks as well as shipped via boat to Reading Abbey.

The oak framed conical roof has been taken down and rebuilt using tradition framing techniques used when it was originally built.

We are very happy to be working with Bowen-Evans Architects and local ecologists, archaeologists, structural engineers and the local authority.
